Frequently Asked Questions

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions take place where YOU need and want them to take place. We can come to your home, meet at a local park, go to a store, or local event. Wherever you want to include your loved one into more family and community focused events, we’re with you. We are so grateful for all the naturalistic opportunities for learning, growth, and connection throughout San Diego. Not sure where you’d want to have a session? Let us help you! From Torrey Pines in Del Mar to Blue Sky Ecological Park in Poway, we’ve got ideas!

Do you take insurance?

Do you provide superbills?

SUNRISE Therapies is a private pay therapy company. We accept credit card, checks, HSA, FSA, and cash payments.

We currently do not accept insurance. At times, insurance can limit the accessibility to integration and inclusion in community focused activities, which is where our passion is. We do however offer superbills that you can provide your insurance company to potential reimburse you (every insurance is different and we can provide you with an example when you book an introductory call).

We are also vendorized through San Diego Regional Center, just mention our vendor ID number (PY2508) to your case manager and regional center can fund our sessions through their early start or self-determination program!

Read more about our reasoning behind this choice on our blog!

Also, in accordance with the No Surprise Act, you are entitled to a good faith estimate that outlines the expected costs of services with us here at SUNRISE Therapies, Inc.. You can learn more about this act by clicking here.

What makes SUNRISE different?

  1. No need to add more transitions to your already busy life; we come to you.

  2. We understand the mind-body disconnect, specifically in apraxic bodies. We help coach bodies and parents in making meaningful neural connections and change!

  3. Your loved one is incredible and we know that. We have a no tolerance policy for anything other than respect, recognizing competence, and an individual first approach.

  4. Your time, sanity, and emotional well being matters. We are small, so no more dealing with different departments with quick turnover of staff.

  5. Trying to keep everyone on the same page is hard work for you! That’s why we believe strongly in collaboration between family, therapist, teachers, and caregivers. We’ve taken the extra step to provide your family with support outside of 1:1 sessions through our online platform.

  6. Your family and friends matter to us. We include the entire family, knowing that the neurodivergent individual isn’t the only person needing support and guidance.

  7. You know your loved one best. Our parent and caregiver partnership model includes yours and the individuals goals, input, and insights. We look at parents and caregivers as partners in collaboration and learning the best ways to support your family as a unit.

  8. Your confidence and understanding of how your loved one interacts with the world is important. We strongly believe in using what you own, what we have access to in beautiful San Diego, and coaching parents and family members to feel confident and connected while being out in the community, supporting home activities, and being included in all the beautiful things life has to offer.
