OUR VALUES

Curiosity

Courage

Compassion

Collaboration

At SUNRISE, we are on a mission to include ALL individuals in our world and make sure they are seen as valuable. We believe occupational therapy should foster connection, confidence, and independence. That’s why we support parents and caregivers in building meaningful relationships with their child, teen, or adult, helping them navigate motor planning, sensory integration, and functional movement with compassion and understanding.

EVERYONE deserves to engage in what they love—free from stigma, judgment, or barriers. Through our in-person therapy in Southern California and online Courses, we help you reclaim your power from a healthcare system that too often falls short.

Together, we work to become our best individual selves and rise—as a community—to make the world a better place.

Our Mission Statement

Caregiver and neurodivergent teen daughter forehead to forehead, sharing a moment of connection and trust at home.

About SUNRISE Therapies

For so long, neurodivergent individuals and their families have been asked to fit into therapy models that weren’t designed for them. Neurodivergent individuals are expected to “mask” their differences instead of being supported in ways that actually work for their brains and bodies.  Caregivers are left out of the process.

We saw a system that was failing families, where caregivers felt dismissed, and neurodivergent individuals were asked to conform instead of being celebrated. Traditional therapy wasn’t cutting it—it was too rigid, too clinical, too disconnected from everyday life.

We knew there had to be a better way.

So, we stepped outside the therapy room and set out to redefine what therapy could look like- more connected, more natural, more you. Here’s how we do it.

We believe neurodivergent individuals are way more capable, smart, and resilient than our society gives credit for.

We see you. The whole you.

As a SUNRISE client, you’re not a time slot to be shuffled through. You’re not a diagnosis on a chart- not a list of “challenges” to work through.

You are bold, brilliant, capable—exactly as you are.

At SUNRISE, we see beyond labels to the unique, incredible individual you are—your voice, your perspective, your strengths. We don’t work to “fix” what’s “wrong.”

As a team, we believe in the undeniable worth of every person—their individuality, their perspective, their innate value. Everyone has something to contribute, something to share, something the world needs.

Growth isn’t about fitting into a mold—it’s about embracing what makes you, you… and having the right support to help you step into it with confidence.

That’s why we offer apraxia-informed, naturalistic therapy that meets you in your world—helping you build skills, independence, and self-trust in real-life environments, not in a therapy room.

The world doesn’t need more clinical detachment, it needs more connection, more understanding, more respect.

And that’s exactly what you’ll get when you work with the SUNRISE team!
